The Simple Women's Daybook
My Woman's DaybookFor Today
February 1, 2010
Outside my window…is Tommy, our adopted kitten.
I am thinking…about a party my mom is hoping to have.
I am thankful for…my brown, white, and black Appaloosa.
I am wearing…a dark blue & light blue striped shirt.
I am remembering…last night.
I am going…to earn $30 today or tomorrow.
I am reading…Andrea Carter and the Dangerous Decision.
I am hoping…I get the $30 today.
On my mind…the drawing I did yesterday representing my papa's sermon.
From the learning rooms…I am learning about adverbs in Easy Grammar. I found out I like adverbs.
Noticing that…it looks quite cold outside.
Pondering these words...Matthew 7:24-27.
From the kitchen…Mom is helping Lucas with math, I am typing and the dishwasher is going. I don't know where it wants to go. It has not gone anywhere yet.
Around the house…Sam, Katie and Larah are sleeping, I am blogging, Lucas is doing math, Papa is at his office, Justin is at the mill, Mom is cleaning and Matthew is sitting on the window sill.
One of my favorite things…dreaming of a new pet.
From my picture journal…

Me & my good friend Audrey Goodrich.

I am thankful for… my mom.
I am wearing… jeans, jean shirt, shawl and tan & white socks.
I am remembering… my fall on Saturday night.
I am going…to the orthodontist tomorrow.
I am reading…Andrea Carter & the Dangerous Decision.
I am hoping… I get the job for $30.
On my mind… my funny family.
From the learning rooms… I am starting a new Geography book today or tomorrow... FUN FUN. Noticing that… my brothers pick on my mom a bunch.
Pondering these words… Matthew 5:29.
From the kitchen… Justin is doing dishes while Matthew talks to him.
Around the house… The girls are outside playing, Sam is going to bed, Lucas is reading to Mom , Papa is at his office and I am typing.
One of my favorite things… is to draw horses.

for January 18, 2010
Outside my window… it is a nice sunny day.
I am thinking…what am I thinking?
I am thankful for…all of my pets.
I am wearing…pink & white socks, army green capreeze and a dandelion colored shirt. It's a stay in the house day.
I am remembering…the time Barbara and I were at Mr. John's farm looking at the baby barn swallows. When we were there we made up a thing... IT'S SOOO CUUUTE!!!!
I am going…to keep answering these question.
I am reading…Andrea Carter and the Family Secret by Susan K. Marlow.
I am hoping…my mom will pick me up a Sobe when she goes to the store.

On my mind… Matthew is cranky.
From the learning rooms… I have started a new math book. Right now I am just Reviewing what I learned in the last book.
Noticing that… outside is the first real sunny day in awhile.
Pondering this word… honesty.
From the kitchen…Mathew is showing Katie what an R looks like, Larah is sitting on the table

When I Grow Up
When I grow up I want to have a big farm. With a bunch of farm animals. I want it to be a farm for kids or adults that have been in the city for too long and need a week or two break, orphans that need to get out for a while, or people that want or need to know how to run a farm. I want them to know how to do all the chores and learn how to have responsibility. I want them to have neat relationships with different animals. I think everyone should be able to do chores on a farm. I think everyone NEEDS to be able to do chores on a farm and have a good relationship with animals. I think everyone should have a relationship with a horse. They are good animals to have a relationship with. I think I would choose to have a relationship with a horse than a pig any day. I would rather take a long horseback ride rather than sitting in the mud with a pig. I do indeed think if someone would rather have a relationship with a pig than a horse that is ok.
I want to have a big brown barn with lots and lots of stalls with all kinds of animals in them. Pigs, sheep, goats, cows and horses...lots of horses, and maybe more animals. I want people not to just learn to do chores on a farm, but learn how to enjoy doing chores on a farm. I would not mind teaching people how to cook things either. That would be fun for me.
I want to have a gift/pet shop with rabbits, birds, lizards, turtles and other animals. Candles, cards, homemade jewelry and thing like that. It is a big dream. I hope to have as many kids as God wants me to...if He wants me to. He may not even want me to be married. I want whatever He wants. That is what I want to do when I grow up.

The Pets in my Family
In our house I have 7 fish, 1 gecko, 4 caterpillars and my papa has a dog. Now outside I have a cat, Justin has a cat, I have a horse, Lucas has a pony, and our family has 12 chickens and 1 rooster. Each kid has his or her own chicken. Except Sam and Justin. It doesn't interest them too much. We have 3 Bardrocks, 3 Road Island Reds, 1 Black Sexlink, 2 Golden Sexlinks and 2 Ostralarps. The names are not spelled right. They might be right, who knows.I think that is a lot of pets. You know what's cool.....our neighbors have 22 chickens, 1 rooster and 2 turkeys, now that's cool. Oh you can't forget our other dog Joe. He is really our neighbor's dog. But he's at our house most the time. He slept on our porch during the summer. He is so much fun. Especially in the winter. We have fun with all of our pets.

Our Huge Garden
Our Garden is HUGE!!!!! We planted all sorts of things. We planted two types of corn, twelve types of tomatoes, two types of onions, four or five types of carrots, 7 types of peppers,
2 types of cabbage, 1 type of chive, one type of celery, two types of pumpkins, one type of potato, 4 or 5 types of squash, 3 types of cucumbers, 1 type of watermelon, and 1 type of cantaloupe. I say that's about it. Our corn did not do so well. Our tomatoes did good. Our peppers did awesome. Our onions did OK. Our celery did terrible. It died before we got any. Our carrots did OK. They are still growing. Our pumpkins did good. We picked every last one this morning around 9 o'clock. Our potatoes did good. We have eaten all of them. I hope we will plant more next year. All our squash did very good. Our cucumbers did good. Our cantaloupe didn't do too well. We had to feed all of them to the chickens because they tasted like onions. Our watermelon did OK. We only got two small ones. They did taste good though. There is our garden and all about it. I did not go into too much detail, O'well.
